Higgins has been appointed as contractor on a £40m project for residential property group A2Dominion.
The development, located on Bath Road in Hounslow, west London, on the site of a derelict Morrisons supermarket, will deliver 176 affordable homes and an 8,000 sq ft retail unit.
Plans for the development include three blocks of homes that range up to seven storeys high, and space for an outdoor play area.
Construction is due to start in the next few weeks.
Higgins managing director Steve Leakey said: “The scheme at Bath Road will help provide homes for local people, with 93 of them being shared ownership and 83 rented and it will also bring new life to a site that has been derelict for some time.”
In its latest set of accounts, Higgins announced a turnover of £282m, with a £152m profit before tax.
Last year, A2Dominion was one of nine housing associations named as strategic partners by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, as part of a £288m funding initiative to build 4,705 new affordable homes in London.
